Bed bugs symptoms are important to identify if you suspect you have bed bugs! These little blood suckers will make your life miserable! As a professional pest control inspector, I know the embarrassment they can cause. The first step in knowing if you have them is to identify the insect. For inspectors like myself, there are always certain symptoms I look to identify when looking for these parasites. Let us take a few minutes to identify how to look for the common signs.

First, we need to identify the frequency of the bites. Did you get bit one time last week, or do you get multiple times every night? If you just got bit one time or a couple times, I want to speak with you first. You probably do not have bed bugs! It is entirely possible you got bit by a random spider. You do not need to be concerned.

If you are getting bit all of the time when you sleep, then there is a really great chance that you have an infestation. Once the bugs start finding you, they know where to go to get dinner every night. Eventually they will start bringing all of their friends too! As you sleep at night, the bed bugs can sense the carbon dioxide you exhale. You exhale more carbon dioxide when you sleep, and they sense where dinner is sleeping. You wake up in the morning with bites all over your body.

They may not be visible during the day. In the beginning stages of the infestation, you may not see any symptoms. They will usually hide under the carpet, behind walls, under floors, and other places where you cannot see them. As the infestation grows, it becomes easier and easier to see symptoms during the day.

Another clear symptom of bed bugs is the location of the bites. Bites on the upper half of the body are clear signs of the little parasites. People with a really bad flea infestation may mistake flea bites for bed bugs bites. Flea bites are more likely to occur on your legs, while bites on your back and arms could be fleas or bed bugs.

A third symptom is actually seeing the bugs! What you want to do is to catch a sample of the bug. Request a professional exterminator to come out to your home to see your possible infestation. Show the professional exterminator your sample. He will know right away if you have these blood thirsty parasites!

These are some of the most common bed bug symptoms. If you have these symptoms, you need to get help as soon as possible! As a professional exterminator, I know that you are in for a real fight, and the fight will be much more difficult if you delay getting help for this embarrassing problem. You can get rid of them yourself, or you could hire a bed bug exterminator. In either case, be sure to get help as soon as possible!
